SECOND WAVE OF AI WINTER (1987-1993)

In past decades the researchers who had survived the funding cuts they have coined the word AI Winter. From then to till late 1990series of financial setback where survived by AI researchers.

  

         in 1987 Desktop and computers from Apple and IBM was gaining speed and power due to that they become more popular and powerful compared to old lips machines made by symbolics and others. Where the successful expert systems like XCON proved to expensive to maintain, due to that entire old industry of systems were collapse overnight. Over 300AI companies had shut down or gone bankrupt by the end of 1993.

AI MACHINE LEARNING ( 1990-2011 )

 mlearning is a method of data analysis. it is a branch of artificial intelligence based on the idea that machine can learn from data and identify the pattern and make decisions like human brain.

Till now AI researches achieved some of oldest goals due to increasing computer power and some achievement by focusing on specific problem with high standards of scientific accountability . In1990's once again Government and corporation become interested in AI. Japanese government unveiled new plans to develop new generation (5th) computer for advanced machine learning

                       In 1997 IBM,s Deep blue computer (This computer can make 200000000 Moves per second) beats world chess champion "Garrykasparov" and became first computer to beat world Chess champion . This event was broadcast live over in internet that time.

In 2011 IBM's question answering system 'Waston' defeated to Jeopardy champions 'Bard Titter' and Ken Jennings by big margins. where it had to solve the complex questions as well as riddles. Watson had proved that it could understand natural language and can solve tricky questions quickly.In the 21st century cheaper and faster computer where available for accessing large amount of data (big data) for advanced machine learning.
